The Careel 22

The Careel 22 began with the first boat being completed in 1974. Designed by well-known designer Joe Adams to a brief by the Roses, these yachts were intended for those who wanted more room and comfort in the cabin and better sea handling than their smaller Careel 18 cousins. The 22 was delivered with a pop-top cabin which gave full headroom and a heavy cast iron keel for full self-righting ability even with the keel raised.

As for its Careel 18 cousin, the Careel 22S was available as either a swing keel or fixed keel option. The fixed keelers had quite different specifications to the swing keel yachts.
