Wivenhoe Winter Marathon 10-11 June

Postby paul trotter » Sat May 06, 2017 5:58 pm

So after such a successful outing with the Bay to Bay there appears to be alot of enthusiasm about this upcoming event.

So far we have the following boats and crews in attendance:

C18 /472 Nellie - Trotts
C18/473 Honey Ryder - Cookie
C18/168 Cool Change - Mr Wilkinson
C18/106 Upright - Mr Jellyman
C18/21 Little Wanderer - The very Rev Alan le May
C18/226 Belise - Mr Murphy

6 Careel 18s and counting!

C22 Cloud Nine - The Pariah

This is already a good turn out.

Mr Emu is booking some campsites on the facebook group so let him know if you are keen. As per last year the camping is at Logan's inlet which is out of that cold wind and we can have a fire. Not sure if we will camp or stay on the boat.

They have a couple of races on Saturday then two laps around the Lake on Sunday. It should be alot of fun with present company. I might take Mary as my moveable cabin ballast!

Let us know if you are keen.

Alan in Little Wanderer and Brian in Upright will make for some great racing and sailing!

We appear to be getting a momentum with our Careel gatherings in Queensland which is great to see.

How about it other careelers?

Dolphin?
Restless?
Ivana?
Wyuna?
Pateena?

I am keeping the list up to date at the top of this string. This is an ideal event for Careel novices to come along and join the fun. For those new to the class there is a chance to compare notes and learn more about your boat in a safe environment. You don't have to race as Wivenhoe is a great lake to bum around and.......you can even use your motor legally!

The new owners of....

The Byrd
Ivana
Wyuna
Pateena

Should come along and enjoy the company. $60 camping / boat permit and race fees.

Its an easy drive, quiet location, easy launching and easy sailing / cruising with a nice warm fire and good company at the end of the day. You would be mad not to come!
