Hi Drifter, can't help with the fireworks spot any more than what was said previously in this thread.

As far as towing the dinghy, if it has a towing eye on the bow just above the water line then you should use that. If it doesn't then think about installing one if possible. A towing eye down there helps to lift the nose and prevent the dinghy burying the nose in any wash you might hit. There can be some pretty big stink boats on the harbour throwing up some nasty wash.

Also, when I did have a dinghy I used floating ski rope to tow it with so as to prevent the rope sinking and getting wrapped around the propellor while distracted.
