"TOP END of the MYALLS CRUISE" 19th-20th May 2018.

Yes, its on again & its a great time of year to enjoy the Myalls !
There are no excuses not to attend barring crook weather (either very wet or big winds) or a broken leg as you would've all treated all the Mum's to their day the week earlier,, so now its your turn &/or still theirs if you bring them along as well.

Meet at Naranie boat ramp in time for a 10am departure or catch up to cruisers shortly after enjoying smoko around the Headland in Naranie Bay (Sands). Most leave their car/trailer in relative safety (nothing is ever guaranteed) at the ramp park area some 150mts away.

After smoko, we'll then venture down to the bottom area of the top lake following much of the shoreline first for a lunch & relax in a sheltered location before later moving onto our preferred overnight spot at Shelley or other nearby as weather conditions may dictate.
There are a number of scattered BBQ & fireplaces close to the shore at Shelley so please bring all your needs especially a bag of firewood, meat, salad, beer & vino, etc.
Next morning after a breakfast & a lazy coffee we'll probably trek over to one of the islands or other suitable shoreline bay area for lunch & afternoon of relaxing, chatting, playing cards, whatever, before heading back to the boat ramp at Naranie & heading off for home late arvo.

Please let us know if you intend to join us so as we may keep an eye open for you. :D

Well the w/end which was full of great weather condition has come & gone but, it has left us somewhat reinvigorated after a marvellous time was had. Rob & I work to hard & don't get out to enjoy our boat near enough however, we certainly enjoyed the company of some very decent people & their family who had made the efforts to be in attendance at what is surely the best lake system in Australia.
We all enjoyed some breakfast, lunch, dinner plus motoring &/or sailing in different locations about the top half of the lakes. Violets Hill was the furthest south that we ventured in fact. Had a terrific fire, barbie & drinks happening on the Sat night at Shelley which has largely & unfortunately lost its beautiful sandy foreshore at present due to extra high water levels.
There ended up being 4 x 18's in attendance plus we ran into Peter & Jim Rourke from Wingham with their 18 (225. Windlass) who joined us at our fireplace & whom we've only noticed from a distance on The Myalls before. Others who had joined us were Steve from Pt Stephens on Midnight (441) with his lovely Mum Jan & small son Theo, Ian & 8yo son Luke on Get Reel (204) from Cromer in Sydney plus Mark & Karen on Linda Lass (449) from Belmont.
Don.
