CRUISES : EXTRA TO THE PROGRAM.

Postby don47 » Sat Jan 24, 2015 12:38 pm

CRUISES: EXTRA TO THE PROGRAM.
These cruises are being added to the normal program with the approval of the CCYA committee to provide extra opportunity for enjoyment to be had from your Careel. Some cruises will be mast down, motor only while others may allow for sailing. Bring along all your necessary provisions and take part in a good time plus a bit of adventure.
All cruises are of course weather dependant. Be on time & participate entirely at your own risk.
Contact: Don or Robyn. 0402 223133.

CRUISE 1. “TOP HALF TOUR“. 14th-15th Feb.15.
MYALL LAKES. (Some motor, some sail)
Sat. 14th. Meet at Naraine Boat Ramp. Myall Lakes in time for a 10AM departure. We’ll visit Naraine Bay (close to camp area) immediately for smoko & later lunch at either Top Spot or Kataway Bay. Later move onto Shelley or nearby suitable for relax, swim, drinks, dinner & overnight.
Sun. 15th. After relaxing breakfast we’ll depart for smoko at perhaps Violet Hill or Johnsons Beach. Lunch will be had at suitable location on the return leg in perhaps the lee of one of the islands (McGraths /Johnsons) or on a sandy foreshore where we can also enjoy yet another dip. Arrive back at boat ramp late afternoon.

CRUISE 2. “ END of SEASON TOUR”. 30th-31st May.15.
RAYMOND TERRACE to NEWCASTLE HARBOUR. (Recommend mast down, shade up, motor cruise)
Good safe parking at or near our property 1K away.
Sat. 30th. Meet at boat ramp on eastern bank Seaham Rd. Raymond Terrace for a 9:30AM (sharpe) departure. This is the junction point for both the Hunter & Williams Rivers. We can reasonably take advantage of the tide all the way to Newcastle Harbour passing under at least two low bridges, one being the Hexham Bridge, Pacific H/way. Lunch at Stockton or other suitable and then cruise harbour taking in sights. We’ll overnight near the NYC (sandy foreshore beyond bridge & marina). For evening meal we can either stroll to NYC or to a close by Pub in old Carrington.
Sun.31st. After breakfast on boat or nearby café we can stroll around the Marina and boardwalk, sip on a coffee at the YC, ect. We may be able to lunch at either Honeysuckle (Queens Wharf) or perhaps on boat if suitable near outer Harbour. Perhaps even group fish & chip it!
We should depart for return trip at around 2-2:30PM to once again take advantage of the tide.

CRUISE 3. “ BULLY TOUR”. 4th-5th July.15.
NERONG to BULADELAH. (Recommend mast down, shade up, motor cruise)
Sat. 4th . At 10AM. depart the Nerong boat ramp.
At or near the entrance to the Myall River we can indulge in some smoko which may possibly lead into an early lunch before heading further upstream taking in the scenic countryside on the way.
We should reach Bully in relatively easy time for some ‘Happy Hour’ & after meander up to the pub for a decent steak or the like.
Sun. 5th. Next morning, eat breakfast on your boat, in the park adjacent or at one of the Cafes only 1-200mtes away. Might then play some cricket in the park or laze about before journeying back southwards.
Probably, swallow some lunch on the return in a suitable scenic location & later in the afternoon make the boat ramp again for pull out.

At this stage, there's nothing to untoward regards weather by the looks of things, light to mod E- NE winds, chance of a shower or evening storm, decent temps. So all systems go for "Top Half Tour".

Sorry people but, this last of the Extra Cruises for the season has to be now CANCELLED as there doesn't appear to be anyone available to either captain it or indeed take part. Good ol Cox'y from the Gold'y was the only one to register his interest! Shows his spirit doesn't it !!
I myself, am now unavailable due to the fact that I will be escorting on a road trip with loaded trailer our lovely daughter inlaw from central Qld to her new home in Darwin where we'll both catch up with her hubby & our son Steve.
