Port Hacking Cruise 26-27 **MARCH**!!

Postby maxm » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:20 am

Just noticed that the Port Hacking cruise notice has gone out with the wrong date. It should be 26-27 March, not April as in the newsletter. The April cruise will be over the Easter/Anzac Day long weekend at Lake Conjola.

Hi Peter,

I've just now emailed the latest two copies to you. They should come through soon but if not, please let me know.

BUMP!

Looks like Saturday could be a good day to shelter in one of the many protected beaches thanks to a predicted southerly. But Sunday looks like a great day to be sailing. Meet at Swallow Rock Reserve, Grays Point ready to head off about 10 am Saturday. Those arriving Friday night will spend the night at the beach adjacent to the ramp.

Who went? Seems in the end that the weather was a mixed bag.

Max

Where were you.

We had 5 boats. 2 22's, 3 18's.

Sailors or should I say motorors were, Greg and Anne, Greg Unger, Catherine and Barry, Helen and Max and of course James and Peter.

It was very windy on Saturday but sunny.

We had lunch just short of southwest arm on the nice sandy beach in the National Park just opposite Lilli Pilli.

We overnighted at Grays Point just up river from Swallow Rock with a few showers but not too bad.

The weather on Sunday was not that great with showers so all boats were out by 2.00pm.

Greg Unger took some photos so we are waiting for him to upload them.

Come on Greg.

Hi Peter,

Sorry to hear the Sunday weather wasn't so good.

Would have loved to have come but KII is off the road at the moment - the trailer split a hydraulic line somewhere between Lake Macquarie and here. No trailer brakes! Luckily I was taking it very easy and so never noticed anything until I got home, went to apply the hand brake on the trailer... and there wasn't any!

I'm waiting on some parts. Naturally the shop is out of stock. So is the distributor. They told me 2-3 weeks so it should be here any day now.

Nice work for still going out there and cruising in the sus conditions.
Unfortunately we were tied up with the girls first soccer games but it was still great to see a turn out of happy cruisers :)
