5th - 6th Sept. 20. Frying Pan Bay. Lake Macquarie.
Arrive ready to depart at 10am.
This is an official Careel Cruise that you'll notice on your Careel Calendar.
Keep eyes open for any further details in the Newsletter or FB site.
All being well with Corona & the weather this cruise will go ahead.
Frying Pan Bay is located at Summerland Point on the southern end of Lake Macquarie & has easy walking distance from b/ramp good facilities including Bakery, Food Store, Hotel, Restaurant, Wood Fired Pizza, Fuel Station, Parklands & walks with toilets but, possibly not hot showers.
What to expect:
We'll first morning tea in the immediate Bay outside & away from the b/ramp area or at Sandy Beach just around the Point to the west so any stragglers can find us there. We may then sail up past &/or visit places as Point Wolstoncroft, Sunshine, around Pulbah Island to Diamond Drill (if time allows) a scenic bottle green water area near Gwandalan. Overnight may be at either Frying Pan or Sandy Beach.

Frying Pan Bay is without a doubt THE best boat ramp in all of Lake Macquarie. Maybe all of NSW. The ramp is in a very sheltered little bay that has a channel running out to the rest of the lake which itself is fairly well sheltered. There is a ramp, a good jetty and a small beach area all in the enclosed bay. Keep an eye out for trees overhanging the channel on the way out but really the only hazard (well marked) on the way out is Pelican Rock. Don't go between the marker and the shore no matter what.
