316 Keel

Postby shane0007 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 7:37 pm

For nearly 2 year's it has sat on the work bench at work. Now after been welded straitened drilled filled with15 to20 kg's of lead and back filled with polyester resin. Then repolished it does not look like a Western star bumper bar any more. Now the hard part putting it into Montanna and see how many sharks I can cut in half. The actual time in making the keel was 10 to 12 hours. I'm hoping a over head crane will make it a little easier and a fully equipped shop to do it in.
Thanks to Glenn for the help.

As promised here's the pictures of the new stainless keel. Took a while and a bit of help to upload the pictures.

Can make a keel but not sure about this computer business.

Has anybody out there got a copy of that magazine?

Fantastic shots!

The shine was so spectacular on the first two shots I couldn't see the CB thinking its was just a shot of the workshop.

Its a bit hard to tell from the shots but did you get much of a foil shape to it?

The CB will even look wonderful from above the water line....imagine the sun shining on it through the water!

Weight?

Can't be disqualified for being to heavy Shane.
If it weigh at least 64kg & fits the manufacturers case, you're sweet !
Don.
