CAREELS AT WYANGALA, EASTER 2012

Postby sail417 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 6:36 pm

Finally had time to sit down and get my photo's in some kind of order to post on the website.

Wyangala Dam is approximately 40km east of Cowra NSW and Easter 2012 it was at 92% capacity. When full, the area of the waterway is twice the area of Sydney Harbour and twice as beautiful.....................that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!!

On the Saturday we had some pleasant steady sailing at the nrth end of the lake around the Grabine area and on Sunday we had a magnificent sail from about 5km inside the Abercrombie River back the Wyangala Recreation Area on the Western side of the lake. We had to work into a 15 - 20kn westerly in the area they call 'The Junction' which joins the two sections of the lake. Sorry I don't have any photo's of that sail but sailing single handed, I was too busy.

Anyway, here is a link to Photobucket.

My tip, go there now while there is plenty of water.
